About 121 Islam
121 Islam is a 100% non-profit organization that has been serving communities for over 15 years. Our mission is to provide high-quality Quran, Arabic, and Islamic sciences education online, with qualified, native Arabic-speaking teachers from Egypt. At 121 Islam, we pride ourselves on offering affordable lessons — with prices starting as low as £2 — making quality Islamic education accessible to everyone. We also run various charitable projects, including providing essential aid to needy families and funding water wells in countries such as Togo, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.
We’ve created a user-friendly app that lets students easily choose their preferred teacher and subject, book lessons at their convenience, and securely pay through our payment system. Both students and teachers receive reminder notifications before each session. The app also includes a range of additional features to support students on their journey to gaining Islamic knowledge.
Our Story
We initially opened an Arabic school in Madinat Badr, Egypt and noticed there was an increase with UK expats moving over to Egypt to learn Arabic, Qur’an and Islamic studies at our academy.
We understood also that parents and students have busy schedules in the UK and USA, and trying to arrange lessons at the local mosque, Arabic centre or even to travel to the muslim lands to learn islamic studies isn’t always convenient and possible. So we wanted to cater for such students so we came up with the idea of providing quality Islamic studies (by our Native Arabic speaking teachers) to students in the UK through an online portal, working around their schedules with quality islamic teaching was key for this type of project.
